There are four different sharing modes: Not Shared, Administrator only, Password protected and Open.

  • Not shared: The network is only stored locally in the device that was used to create the network. It is not visible to any other devices. Note that if you delete the network from that mobile device, reinstall the Casambi app, or lose the mobile device, you will not be able to gain access to the network. For this reason, it is always advisable to share a network.

  • Administrator only: The network is not visible to other devices. It is only possible to log in if you know the administrator email and password. Go to the ‘More’ tab and choose ‘Change network’ or if you are in the main welcome screen tap on ‘My Networks’. In the ‘Networks’ screen tap ‘Log in to network’ and then enter the email address and password.

  • Password protected: The network is visible to other devices. A lock icon will appear next to the network name in the ‘Networks’ screen. Users need to know a password to access it. This can be obtained from the network administrator. Go to the ‘More’ tab and choose ‘Change network’ or if you are in the main welcome screen tap on ‘My Networks’. Tap the network name the app will ask for a password. Entering a user password allows control of the luminaires in the network and also scene selection. It is not possible to change any of the programmed settings. Only an administrator can change the settings.

  • Open: An open network is visible to all other devices. No password is needed to control of the luminaires in the network or select scenes. Go to the ‘More’ tab and choose ‘Change network’ or if you are in the main welcome screen tap on ‘My Networks’. Tap the network name and you can then control the luminaires in the network and select any scenes. It is not possible to change any of the programmed settings. Only an administrator can change the settings.
