CasDMX is Casambi control to DMX. Casambi-->DMX
casDMX is a Casambi enabled four-channel DMX-512 master dimmer. It drives one DMX-512 universe, connecting to DMX enabled lighting devices and fixtures. The casDMX is connected between a 12-24 VDC Class 2 power supply and provides a non-isolated DMX-512 universe.
casDMX can control up to 12 DMX channels (slots) making it an ideal partner for RGBW and tunable white (TW) applications. The Casambi profiles allow for straight four-channels, and Casambi color-picker compatible 4-channel control.

DMX Addressing
From the Casambi application, users are able to input the DMX start address, frame length and slot count. To configure these parameters, after pairing the casDMX, double-tap the device and scroll down until you see the parameters shown below.
The start address is where the first address and the sequential address continues after that .
The frame length is the total time length of the address it can communicate to.
The thing that is needed about the casdmx support article is an explanation on the DMX frame length and copy slot count. I have a background in DMX lighting and that terminology is not familiar to me, maybe in this part of the world. Do you know if DMX engineering or ourselves have a simple easy-to-understand diagram on those 2 parameters?
Common Questions
- Does the casDMX support RDM or sCAN?
- Unfortunately, not at this time.
- How many drivers can the casDMX support?
- The casDMX does not support a maximum driver count but can control up to 12 DMX channels. Therefore, it can theoretically control 12 1 channel DMX drivers.
