Android 9, 10 and 11 as a gateway

Modified on Tue, 27 Apr, 2021 at 1:13 PM

We've now become aware that changes to Android operating systems 9 and above are limiting the reliability of the gateway function within the Casambi app. The possibility now exists that an Android device using Android OS 9 or above may not function well when used as a gateway for a Casambi network and may result in disconnections.

Therefore we recommend Android OS versions 8 and below are used for gateways whenever an Android device must be used. Alternatively, an iOS device can be used as a gateway.

Also note: the Casambi gateway feature relies on third-party devices and connections. Because of this, a continuous and flawless operation cannot be guaranteed.
