There can be one Cloud Gateway in each network. Like the controllers, a gateway can be created in advance as a placeholder which is later replaced by the real gateway unit.

To create a gateway placeholder, right-click on top of the network name in the Networks pane and click New Device.

In the New Device dialog, make sure that the “Type” is Cloud Gateway, and then enter

• Enter name for the placeholder
• Enter Serial number (this is optional and can be entered if you already have the actual Cloud Gateway unit to be used here)
• Select location (layout where the placeholder should reside)

After clicking the Create button in the dialog, the gateway placeholder element is displayed in the top left corner of the selected layout. 

The placeholder can be freely moved into correct location in the layout. It can also be moved to another layout by selecting new location in the gateway properties.

Gateway’s properties can be found in the property pane.

Device

1. Name of the Casambi Cloud Gateway device
2. Current status of the gateway. Status can be manually refreshed with the Refresh button.
3. Gateway device’s serial number.
4. Gateway element’s location in Casambi Pro project’s layouts. If the gateway object is moved from a layout to another, it will be shown in a default location in the target layout where it is moved to.

Connection

5. Setting for displaying a notification if connection is lost with the gateway.

Data collection

6. Settings for allowing data collection from the network the gateway is connected to.
