A complex scene is one that contains many luminaires with many unique combinations of different dim levels and colours/colour temperatures. Such complexity increases the system data usage requirements and may cause system data degradation & erratic performance. These configurations do not typically occur, but should be avoided.
The Casambi system analyses the content of each scene as it is being configured and calculates its data requirements. Should the amount of data required for a specific scene exceeded the system limits, the below message will be displayed and the scene cannot be saved. It should be simplified or split to various different scenes if possible.
It is not possible to precisely define what set of scene configuration parameters will trigger the warning because the amount of data a scene requires will vary depending on the individual device capabilities, profile used, & the number of totally unique settings used for the devices in the scene. The more complex the Casambi node, the more scene data it consumes if its settings are unique only for it within the scene. A scene using purely dimmable luminaries that are all set at the same dimmed level will use significantly less data than a scene using a combination of dimmable, tuneable white and RGB luminaries all having differing dimming levels, colour temperatures and colour settings.
