The D4i Query Delay defines a short pause inserted between consecutive queries when reading data from DALI fixtures. This delay helps manage the load on the network by allowing time for previous input/output operations to complete or time out, thereby limiting the number of simultaneous active requests.
By spacing out the queries, overwhelming the network can be avoided. This is especially important in larger networks with a lot of data traffic (DALI and LUX -sensoring).
- The default value (4 seconds) is enough for executing one request at a time.
- Shorter values (as low as 1 second) are also supported and may be suitable for smaller or less other traffic-containing networks.
This parameter can be particularly useful during troubleshooting, where high-frequency queries might otherwise cause delays or performance issues.
