When Export Light Control is enabled, any dimming changes made within the Casambi network whether through the app, sensors, switches, or automation, are automatically communicated to the DALI system by simulating/producing DAPC commands for dimming the lights to the connected DALI system. This means that the DALI controller can monitor and reflect the current light levels of Casambi-controlled luminaires in real time.
For example, if a user dims a luminaire using the Casambi app or a Casambi switch, the DALI system will receive this updated dimming level as if it had been adjusted by a DALI command. This ensures state consistency between the two systems, which is especially important in hybrid installations where both Casambi and DALI instances are used for control or monitoring.
Use cases:
- A DALI-based building management system (BMS) needs to track lighting levels for reporting or automation.
- Casambi is used for user interaction, but DALI is used for centralized supervision or override.
- Energy monitoring or compliance requires accurate light level feedback from all luminaires, regardless of control origin.
