Lithernet Gateway setup guide

Hardware Setup

  • Connect the Gateway: Plug the gateway into your network using the RJ-45 port. Power is supplied via PoE (Power over Ethernet).
  • Check the 4 status LEDs:
    1. Operating LED: Flashes green (1 sec interval) when running.
    2. Network Status: Yellow when network is connected.
    3. UDP LED: Red (no UDP connection), Green (UDP established).
    4. TCP/IP LED: Red (no TCP/IP), Green (TCP/IP established). Note: The gateway acts as a TCP client, not a TCP server.
  • Mounting: Ensure the device is securely mounted and accessible for network cabling.

Initial Network Configuration

  • Default IP: Out-of-the-box, the gateway is set to DHCP. If no DHCP server is present, it defaults to 192.168.1.90.
  • Access Web Interface: Use a browser to access the gateway’s IP address.
  • Set Login Credentials: On first access, set a username and password for the web interface.

Firmware & Profile

  • Check Firmware: Ensure the gateway firmware matches your Casambi network version:
  • Firmware 4.XX is for Casambi Evolution ≥ 39.50.
  • Profile Selection: In the Casambi app, select the correct profile for your hardware revision (e.g., Ethernet_Gateway_REV2.5).

Casambi App Integration

  • Add Device: Pair the gateway to your Casambi network via the app. In the Casambi app, add the gateway as a Bluetooth device. It will appear as a lamp, sensor, and switch.
  • Profile Options: Choose the appropriate profile:
    • _EVO = 32 groups/scenes, 8 keys.
    • _EVO_Groups = 64 groups, 8 keys.
    • _EVO_Scenes = 64 scenes, 8 keys.
  • Configure as Needed: Set up as lamp, button, PIR sensor, or lux sensor as required.

Basic Settings

  • Network: Set static IP, subnet, gateway, and DNS if needed.
  • NTP Client: Configure time synchronization if required.
  • System: Use the wizard for control system setup (Netcomposer, ArtNet, UDP/TCP, etc.).
  • Casambi Settings: Confirm network connection and polling method (active, passive, etc.).

Testing & Identification

  • Identify Device: Use the app or web interface to activate identify mode (LEDs will flash).
  • Check Status: Verify all LEDs indicate proper operation and network connectivity.

Reset & Recovery

  • Reset Button: For devices manufactured after 03/2022, use the internal button for:
    • <15s: LED test.
    • 15–30s: Soft reset (network/login only).
    • 30s: Hard reset (full factory reset).
  • Web Reset: For firmware 2.11+, full reset can be done via /reset_full_flash URL.
