Gateway parameters: DALI emergency mode

When DALI Emergency Mode is enabled, the Casambi CBU-DCS gateway allows DALI controllers to interact with emergency luminaires (DALI DT1 devices) that are managed within the Casambi network. This includes the ability to:

  • Trigger emergency function tests (e.g., function or duration tests)
  • Read emergency status reports
  • Monitor battery and lamp condition
  • Receive fault notifications

This is particularly useful in hybrid installations where emergency lighting is managed wirelessly via Casambi, but compliance and reporting are handled through a centralized DALI system or building management system (BMS).

To ensure proper operation:

  • Only one CBU-DCS gateway in a Casambi network should be configured to handle DT1 emergency devices.
  • If multiple gateways are used, they should be segmented: one for standard luminaires (DT6/DT8) and another exclusively for DT1 emergency devices.

This setup ensures that emergency lighting remains compliant with safety regulations while benefiting from the flexibility of wireless control.
