Salvador enables the creation of hybrid networks which combine Casambi devices and wired DALI drivers to a seamlessly working combination. Unlike the 64 address limit of DALI networks, a Casambi network can contain up to 250 nodes in an Evolution network. One Salvador is one Casambi node, and each addressed wired DALI driver is one Casambi node in the Casambi network. Please note that Salvadors are only compatible with Evolution networks.
When the devices are discovered and addressed by the Salvador, they appear as luminaires in the ‘Luminaires’ tab in the Casambi app. They can be configured and programmed in the same way as any other Casambi enabled luminaire. It is possible to create scenes that contain both wired DALI drivers and Casambi enabled luminaires. This enables you to extend a wireless Casambi network with wired solutions or integrate the two together.
It is possible to pair multiple Salvadors to the same network, with 64 DALI drivers connected to each. The only limit is the amount of nodes in the system which includes Casambi nodes and each individual DALI driver.
Examples:
- One Salvador connected to 12 DALI drivers. Total number of units in the network: 13
- One Salvador connected to 12 DALI drivers. There are also seven other Casambi enabled devices in the network. Total number of units in the network: 20
- Two Salvadors, each with nine DALI drivers connected. There are also seven other Casambi enabled devices in the network. Total number of units in the network: 27
